16yr olds shouldn’t be an activist for anything. They should be getting their homework done and enjoying their childhood. Anyone that becomes an activist at a young age has been taught to fear. Teaching fear to kids before they’re even adults is mental abuse/manipulation.
The narrative becomes, “Our side wants to save the Earth. And if you disagree with our methods, you not only want us to go extinct, but you hate children too!” Pretty suspect tactic to pivot away from the discussion and forces more of a volatile emotional response.
There’s a reason 16yr olds can’t vote. There’s a difference between being politically conscious and standing in front of the UN while heading a global campaign. “You stole my childhood!” No sweetie...the people that convinced you to be a poster girl did that.

Do you really believe this? The Taliban headshotted Malala Yousafzai at age 15 for going to school as a girl. She became an activist for women's education & won a Nobel for it at 17. You really think she should've just shut up & done hw in a country that tried to kill her for it?
I know this Tweet is in reference to Greta Thunberg, but you're making a principled statement about the concept of child activists. I want to know if you believe the exact same thing about Malala Yousafzai.
That's a bit of a stretch. In general, people should be able to fight for what they believe in IF they're knowledgeable and informed on the topic. The person I believe you're talking about is clearly knowledgeable and informed.
In fact, the idea that you would discourage 16 y/os from conversing is baseless and stupid, why would someone be unable to talk about a subject because of their age? Like I said, you should be able to talk about anything as long as you understand what you're talking about
