It was 47.7c/117f in Western Sydney today. Without significant rainfall (did I mention we're in the midst of a major drought?) they're expected to continue burning for weeks to months.

The U.S. have been capable of creating & manipulating weather for decades (at least as far back as the Vietnam war) I assume Australia would have the same capability. So why have these fires been allowed to go this far? U can start, control & steer a storm. Where's the rain???
