I'm super stoked about this! The guy who literally wrote the book on nonlinear dynamics and chaos sits down with range of scientist and mathematicians to talk about science, math and life.

hey that new laser microscope they have out at Berekley looks pretty cool. We should maybe think about building something like that!

Less a paper arguing against the mechanism, more a call for more rigorous science and not just jumping on the new hot topic. Their eLife paper earlier this year was a good counter point.

I can’t think of many other career perks that can match the thrill of making a scientific discovery.

This imaging platform brings together 3D super-resolution fluorescence microscopy and electron microscopy—and it works on whole cells preserved cryogenically. It’s revealing the fine inner structure of cells in new detail. Read (and watch) more here:

Well this is a bit serendipitous: a couple weeks into signing onto a thesis project, this nice little review in Nature addresses a lot of the same questions we're trying to tackle.

It doesn't seem like such an absurd sounding technique would would yield this caliber of data. Quite incredible.

Autophagy, p16, lysosomes—three things our lab has never studied before, yet three things tackled by our fearless graduate student, Philip Coryell. New preprint online! Autophagy regulates the localization and degradation of p16INK4a

In toto imaging of development of post implantation mouse embryo at SC resolution. Equally impressive a DNN analysis package for lineage tracking. It's a totally rad era to be into microscopy.

Ahh I know this rabbit hole well: Self-organization and the emergence of complex phenomena. A few positive feedback loops and mostly unremarkable circumstances. It always astounds me how little it takes.
