Bendix is one of my faves, a massively underrated talent with amazing range, from horrifyingly violent and dangerous in The Glass Key to uproariously funny in Life of Riley. What a wonderful actor.

This movie is a dud. William Bendix sppears as a middle aged high school student at the beginning of the movie. Even Babe Ruth couldn't save this sorry excuse.

Another one of those horrible baseball movies of that era. Actors couldn't swing a bat or throw a baseball until Kevin Costner showed up.

This movie is hysterically bad. The scene where the crippled boy by just saying hi is fall on the floor funny. The scene with the dog hit by the stray foul ball shouldn't be funny but how it's milked for all it's sentimentality is funny. Plus Ruth's "cure".

Amazingly underrated actor. In every film he ever did, you just wanted to give him a hug, even when he played ruthless characters.

I enjoy the fact they had teleportation at the time. He got from NY to Gary Indiana to Wrigley field for an afternoon world series game all in the same day.

I love him most in Hitchcock's Lifeboat.
