Okay, make that 12 for 12. Young voters also expanded their share of the electorate over '16 in AK, NE, NM, and OK. I'm yet to find a state where the youth vote didn't surge by more than overall turnout.pic.twitter.com/XvNcXT5iUd
Last one for today, younger voters expanded their share of the electorate in Vermont as well (by a huge margin). That's 13 of 13 states reporting individual vote history showing this surge.pic.twitter.com/pPszNJZpRP
It is remarkable, in the face of a pandemic closing most campuses, that the youth vote surged this much. Many criticized the Biden campaign for not doing in-person organizing, but these numbers don't lie. Credit to the campaign and allied groups for getting the job done.
Does that make youth issues like free college and cancelling student loan debt the winning margin? :)
There's a strong argument to made!
