When I lived in Venezuela, in the 1980’s-90’s, I vividly recall my father telling his friends and neighbors that socialism was coming to Venezuela, and their response, “what happened in Cuba can’t happen here! We have too much petroleum & freedom” It did happen - and worse. /2

A month later he died in a plane crash. I think of him often and I think of what he might have been. So that's what I did. :) One last note. That form of public service, where you get a call, is less common now. Almost always now what you did for the candidate. :/ /15x

In looking through the preliminary data, we’re definitely seeing the impact of early voting on voter behavior. Nov. 2018: absentee voting accounted for 7% of overall turnout Nov. 2022: absentee voting accounted for approx 14% of overall turnout 🗳
Both early votes and overall votes are down *substantially* from 2018.

A recent WSJ report reveals that many businesses are offering to pay for travel for abortions but is decreasing maternity/paternity leave benefits. Hulu just cut paid parental leave benefits by 60%. It’s cheaper to “help” women abort children than to provide paid leave.

I’m glad the WH is blasting Republican politicians who took PPP money—millions in some cases. These people received taxpayer funded salaries, were almost never at risk of shutting down, and took massive federal handouts. Student debt forgiveness is bad; so was PPP.

They closed churches and schools and left open marijuana dispensaries and liquor stores. They cut us off from our grandparents but won't cut off gay orgies over stigmatization. There is no reason to listen to public health officials again.

Just finished my call with conceding the MO-04 race to him. He was gracious and thoughtful, and I look forward to supporting him onto victory in November. Mid-Missouri and our two military bases need our next congressman to hit the ground running & Mark can do it!
