As the saying goes, "Dance like no one's watching! Email like it may one day be read aloud in a deposition!"
-
My workplace has the same policy, which is repeated pretty often: "Never write an email or do an action that you wouldn't want to see in the newspaper or on TV".
-
And always remember - the purpose of an email is not to inform the recipient: it's to protect the sender.

Apply for every position you're interested in even if you think you're not qualified for it.

This! Women, go ahead and apply for that stretch job. It’s less of a stretch than you think. And tell them you’re super qualified.
-
So lie to the person in charge of hiring you, classy

if that's your paradigm, i can't change your point of view. i am super confident in my ability to do ANY job i apply for. BOTTOM LINE: they can reject my resume or call me for an interview.

Right -- employers will hire you based on an interview, your (accurate but positively-framed) c.v., and your references. And they see the CV (or application) plus cover letter first, so make it show your best you.
-
I'm interested in roles that give me room to grow. If I'm already 100% qualified for it, then I've only succeeded in punching below my weight.
-
agreed -- i apply for EVERYTHING that i want. and you're absolutely right, there has to be some kind of challenge or my skills and drive would be highly

Reminds me of Advice a friend told me his mother gave him: remember that you always have the value in yourself. They just happen to be the ones currently writing the check.
