All these “someone had a bug in a smart contract therefore Ethereum is doomed” takes are the equivalent of “nobody will ever need more than 640KB” or “the iPod will fail” quotes.

I think attackers would have just made a lot of money.

I'm worried about how hard it is to roll out patches of any kind in a blockchain. That seems like an inherently problematic aspect of these new platforms.
