So you would be opposed to someone pointing out "you can pipe foo into bar", even if the net result was that people then started taking the problems exposed by foo and bar seriously?

I think pointing out "you can pipe foo into bar" is helpful assuming the majority of defenders who can act don't already know it. If most people already know you can pipe 'foo into bar' then automating it is not necessarily helpful.
