If you insist on running untrusted executables and refuse to fix that problem, then you're screwed and antivirus doesn't change that. It's plausible AV will increase the amount of time your system is usable between reinstalls, but that is not security.

Heh, that wasn't point. My point is that people are unprotected in general. But if you can change their concept of isolation (do banking in this domain, do coins in this. only check email here), you gain automatic protection from attacks (i have no virus scanner in qubes). :)
