I hoped the knowledge of the disclosure to Lastpass would not have been disclosed to the public until after they remediate.

Yes, I would not recommend it for multiple reasons. KeePass or KeePassX are both good quality alternatives that are well designed.

1Password doesn't store it's data online. (Doesn't mean it's not got a vuln, but it's a diff beast to LP)
