@hectorasoto2 No. We're pushing Symantec to get patches out as soon as possible. If you have a support contract, ask them to prioritize. - 8 more replies

@taviso These also affect Norton, Symantec Endpoint (All Platforms), SMSME, SSE, and probably all other Symantec & Norton branded products. -
@taviso Default Install, remote, you get SYSTEM (or kernel) on Windows, root on Mac/Linux/UNIX. These are as bad as it gets. - 2 more replies

@MalwareMinigun@dhw /GS (the default) would have made it unexploitable. Symantec disable it.... That is an insane thing to do. - 3 more replies

Have you checked with newer versions of Symantec? You're looking at 12.1.6.306. My current version is 12.1.6.6860

It's unpatched, we'll announce when a patch is available.

when you say "remote", do you literally mean: * send packet(s) * enjoy ring 0 Or victim needs to open malicious url/email?
-
Just *receiving* an email is enough, no need to open or read it (even webmail, so long as the tab is open). URL also works.
