Oh I track what you're saying now, the phishing site requests it server-side and then serves it back up to the victim. Yeah that'd work!
i’ve seen precisely this technique done on bank phishing pages, where the targeted users’ bank did the security picture thing
Or can run their query from completely separate systems and pass the image back to the phishing page. It's useful (imo) against the lazy phishing attacks, which are most of what I see.
