Controversial opinion alert: Car hack villages are super fun but don't advance research or make cars more secure. Similar to how lock pick villages haven't produced a bunch of lock engineers.

Car security research, IMHO, covers everything from remote killings to privacy/ surveillance, theft, policy, safety, data exposure, blah blah.

so someone writing security policy docs is a car hacker? i just don’t agree with this. this isn’t me being elitist, it’s me thinking words (like hacker) mean something specific. we can disagree with what that word means i guess.
