Sure, but for the purposes of discussion, which is preferable? LE use 0day right now, where they would probably prefer warrants, right? I think you're saying that with a key escrow system, 0day will still exist, so we've made things worse? (I promise I'm not making a point)

Yes. Attacks get cheaper, governments get smarter, creating a backdoor doesn’t take away zero days it just adds abother weakness to be exploited.

In the telecom world, I’ve been involved a few cases of lawful intercept requests. My impression is that if they have to resort to a legitimate warrant process, they will often still favor using a 0day if they have the option. I think they won’t be satisfied with warrant.
