I've worked with ISP's networking groups for years. Except in cases of child pornography, I haven't seen ISP's have any 'desire' to snoop on DNS queries for economic gain They are not setup to take advantage of it. IMO that's a mistake for the ISP's. They have a business model. Charge a monthly fee for a service. It works. Google, etc. have a different business model that relies on analyzing all this data for different services (both for consumer and for their customers).
