If you want to snoop on DNS queries, you should get permission from the owner. Period. The mental gymnastics to rationalize not needing permission, or claim that isn't the issue have been quite impressive.

It’s a legit question and not about definition of owner. It’s about owner of which piece and there is virtually certain to be more than one. The owner of a DNS resolver can likely do as they will with the logs from it.

It's because of this line of thinking that data protection regulations are in place. The data ownership remains with the data subject, which is different from the data processor.

From /whom/? When you say "the owner," do you mean the owner of the domain, the owner of the network, the owner of the device, the user of the device, etc? If you mean "the user of the device," then we are in agreement, but since you refuse to answer, the questions continue.
