I have very poorly defined fingerprints, so scanners very rarely work for me. I can't use the scanners in phones, but that's a pretty minor inconvenience. The big problem is immigration checkpoints, over the years the problem has got worse as more of the checking is automated.

I wonder how the new Qualcomm sensor in the latest pixels would work for you. In theory it should pass that test.

The sensors on my {P1,P3,iPad} really don't like to read my fingerprint sometimes (reregistered 5 times with 3 fingers) so I get to "try again later" about 25% of the time when unlocking my P3.

Joking aside, test cases that reliably/reproducibly yield false negatives are very helpful for sensor testing. However, you may be asked to test a lot if you want to go down that route, so I'm not sure I should recommend you volunteer to
