personally I find it very frustrating that I am simply *incapable* of summarizing something - even though I've mostly let go of concern about edge cases - and yet I feel there's an undercurrent that "it's really easy to communicate simply and anybody who doesn't is lazy"

+1. I’m trying to train myself to caveat more precisely (e.g., ‘at a high level,’ ‘for our purposes,’ ‘in this context’) so I stop unintentionally communicating that what I’m saying is *simple* when in fact it’s just incomplete/non-comprehensive
