      But that gets me: while ((c = getopt_long (argc, argv, "hV", opts, NULL)) != -1) It's look, but not the exact expression im looking for

      I want to find me something using the base of the array: from [...] ArrayExpr bufferWrite where buffer.getType() instanceof ArrayType and bufferWriteBase = buffer.getAnAccess() and bufferWriteBase = bufferWrite.getArrayBase() select bufferWrite

      I want that inside an assigment, and obviously, on the left part (written): from [..] Assignment a where [...] bufferWriteBase = bufferWrite.getArrayBase() and bufferWrite = a.getLValue() select a

      Getting pretty close, that will get me: [vlc_argc++] = "--quiet";vlc_argv Now I want all of that, inside a loop!!

      And that, as expected give me what I was looking for: for( int i = 0; i < argc; i++ ) my_argv[i + 1] = argv[i]; Array being written into, inside a loop!

      Now you can go and hunt bugs in Linux kernel here: https://lgtm.com/query/4659751768427255775/ … Warning: There will be a LOT of results.

      That is kinda fun, there are some real ones in there, although I dunno how many users plug in malicious monitors 😝 (I think the length of the last pair can exceed the edid[2] length check, i.e. a ton of len=1 and a len=0x1f at the end) https://lgtm.com/projects/g/torvalds/linux/snapshot/56e7115abb329f63ffaec05e990c1a7199ddcd83/files/drivers/video/fbdev/core/fbmon.c?sort=name&dir=ASC&mode=heatmap#L1033 …

          A "malicious monitor" could be a $2 Atmel microcontroller with 3 pins soldered to VGA connector.

          I once made a set of malicious vga cables that set up a mesh network via IR bounced off the ceiling. EDID bug, pop pop, C2 across the air gap. Good times

          Hmm... yeah this is an actual issue in very wide deployment in some kernels. Should trigger on at least both Samsung Exynos and MSM kernels via mini DP and MHL even if locked. Some of them have no stack cookies or KASLR. Nice...

          I just realized malicious monitor referred to a display.... As opposed to some crazy watchdog in operating system, even projector I was on the fence if it was even crazier concept I hadn't heard of...
