There’s no evidence Robbinhood did not use EternalBlue to spread in this case. They are still investigating whether this is a new variant/there were other propagation tools but multiple IR have confirmed EB’s role for lateral movement.

Yeah it’s the thing for me that got lost in the debate for me. The lost vuln isn’t really causing the issue, the quality of the exploit is - millions of dollars of testing and field use went into that.

Don’t verbal the guy Tavis. All he’s saying, all I’m saying, is enough effort goes into writing high quality, reliable exploits that they’re less and less likely to wind up freely available to ransomware crews in the future. That’s all.

Isn't it also true though that Ransomware is probably profitable enough for ransomware writers to self-fund high-quality, reliable exploit development?
