I think you're talking about how an update for a bug I reported caused a common kernel rootkit to panic due to hardcoded offsets. I can see an argument that it's the malware developers fault for infecting victims, but you'll have to explain how I'm the cause.

I found out two days after the patch shipped and the damage was done. Sorry I missed the time line in your disclosure. BTW, the mpengine on Linux work you did was awesome. Every time you find a new vuln, I'm just hoping it wasn't my fault.

Also check out kb 2506014 and TDL4. I might not have been the first M$ employee to discuss an unpatched issue at a conference, but it's a thing I did. And they didn't fix it for 8 months.
