I wonder if Apple has enough log data to determine if anyone abused the FaceTime bug, and if so, if they'll inform the victims.

I mean, we all know what they’re gonna do. They’ll list it as a bullet item in their iOS changelog, and that’s it

Unless I've missed something, there's zero precedent for a company like Apple doing this unless legally required to. I'd put the chances of it happening at next to nil.

Hmm but what the data will show? A FaceTime group call missed call? How's that useful in this case?!

It could be useful to find someone who initiated a FT call with the intent to spy on the audio. According to Zack's article, it appears that source and recipient handles are included in the meta collection.

Whether Apple or any mobile device manufacturer like to admit it or not these type of backdoors must exist for spying and intelligence agencies to snoop in on people.
