We are talking past each other. In this chart on aug 25th, muddy waters released a report they paid for on vulnerabilities in st jude medial devices. they shorted before the report came out, and could have covered for a quick 10% gain after the announcement afterpic.twitter.com/lUzbBAKMyM

I know what they did and what happened, and the order of events. I'm saying I don't think disclosure is the optimal way to profit from vulnerability research.
