That's what muddy waters tried to do with abbott/st jude. Didnt work out well long term but certainly potential for a quick trade as long as the information is truthful.

Not really the same, they disclosed the vulnerabilities. I think you can't disclose them if you want to take a short position, because the stock market doesn't care about disclosed vulnerabilities. I have thoughts on how to make it work though, it's a fun discussion
