With computer license, you're not even allowed to use IDA in different VMs *on the same computer* !

I asked them to confirm because I didn't believe anyone would say that, but they really require that (!!). I'm not going to renew. When they stop treating long term customers like pirates trying to steal from them by daring to use a laptop and a VM, I'll consider renewing.

Yeah fb red team had same problem.
@ucsenoi and@0xdeadbeefJERKY tried to buy two licenses a little while ago. We are debating doing floating license thing but then we need to maintain a server. -
Hah, would be amusing if the red teams flexlm server got popped.

You can buy named licenses I believe but only if you're not trying to do so as part of a corporation. I think they base that just on your email address. I guess I just will stick on 6.95 for ever as I'm not buying computer licenses.

This is a really terrible experience for customers, loyal customers. :( We did not renew this year because of this exact policy. I hope people will keep bring this up with Hexrays as a problem. BinaryNinja and
@psifertex doing good work on showing an alternative. - 3 more replies

Especially seeing as the target market has a large concentration of people with the skills to crack any DRM.
