Honestly, obviously an antivirus industry advocate thinks people should give more money to the antivirus industry. A better story would be hearing you rationalize that, and hear why giving money makes antivirus better.

If you ever had a friend/relative/colleague/etc that had to disable its AV to proceed to a web site/downloading something and then got a malware from it - you know that AV do save the day sometimes.

Well, my experience is different. I have been responsible for AV deployments for 15K clients, and I can assure that it makes a huge difference. If you were in my position, you would even notice the difference between a x.4 and x.5 version of the same AV...

Antivirus doesn't work. If the only line of defense between your network being compromised is antivirus, and that (according to you) is being tested daily means that you're in *very* *serious* *trouble*. Compromising your network is *trivial*.
