Is it possible your understanding of kernel memory corruption is incomplete, and the professional vulnerability researcher does actually know what the word "brick" means?

Definitely! I understand "bricked" to mean these devices couldn't correctly boot afterwards. Is that what happened, or is my definition wrong?
