Yes, bricking would be an obvious waste of a kernel exploit (unless you are trying to prove a point on twitter which seems hard). For example, I would much rather have my device obviously bricked than infected with undetected spyware.

Second thought; who am I kidding? Kids these days rather have spyware installed than a brick it seems. Feeling old every time privacy is discussed, "1984" is not dystopian anymore, it's just normal, and satire is the new truth.
