It’s the result of his description of events. I’m all for asking for clarification when in doubt. Also, it happens that one morning you wake up and people have decided to redefine words with established meanings (see “crypto”).

Asking for clarification is encouraged and welcome. "Not bricked.", "You don't know what bricked means.", "bricking means special tools are required to recover", and so on is not asking for clarification.
