I think we can all agree that using some type of VPN, even if shady, is better than not using one.
#RiskAcceptance is sometimes necessary in both Kim's & Tavis' example. There is inherent risk of attack/interception in anything, but esp. w/ WiFi. -

Not a perfect parallel, but I think you get my point about life being a tradeoff. You don't have to use the hotel WiFi either. But maybe the hotspot on your mobile phone isn't an option due to usage charges - if that's the case there are precautions you can take.
