I was hit by a car when I was 12. I was on my bike in a crosswalk in front of my suburban grade school. A guy in a pickup hit me and kept driving until some moms on the playground started screaming. He hopped out, said 'are you ok?' and drove off. I broke my leg.

My aunt and uncle were hit by a car in NYC. My niece was hit by a car in L.A.when she was 8 -- and she lost most of her front teeth from the impact. My husband's grandmother was killed by a car while crossing the street.
