When we talk about "both sides" of the " debate," remember that 80% of Americans support the right to abortion & the ⬇️same guys⬇️ screaming at women at the Supreme Court protest think a pizza place runs a trafficking ring as part of Hilary Clinton's global cabal.

It's kind of awkward that the US is preparing to host a democracy summit as our Supreme Council of Clerics is preparing to revoke a basic human right.

This strikes to the core. Grieve and rage and grieve again. But we cannot give into despair. We can only settle into the work and trust that those behind us will pick it up when we are gone. From piece:

Today and issued their guidance to reimplement (and expand!!!) the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) - a deadly program that violates the human rights of asylum-seekers every day it exists. A🧵on what this means and how it's really really bad.

Reports that Council of Europe members have voted to start infringement proceedings in Kavala v. Turkey. It’s the right move. But it should have never come to this. And it wouldn’t have if Turkish authorities fulfilled their obligation to .

Abortion loves, I cannot over stress the importance of investing in our long-term ability to stay in this work. That means deep self-care and affirming community care. Please think to yourself — what will you do for yourself, and others, so we can continue this struggle?

Any person who thinks abortion rights is a two-sided "debate" should have to witness anti-abortion activists spewing vitriol and screaming slurs and insults at doctors and patients and storytellers. They'd realize pretty quickly that the hatred goes beyond abortion.

PSA: When I say "pregnant person," I mean, "pregnant person." Because trans men need access to abortion care. Some nonbinary people need access to abortion care. Some people of other genders need access to abortion care. And some women don't.

Have had the Robert Frost lines stuck in my head all day: The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep. We are tired but not daunted. Miles to go. We will do it together.
