3 Commitments for 2020: 1️⃣ Embrace uncertainty. 2️⃣ Question normal. 3️⃣ Expect success. Throughout the year, these will morph into goals or projects—but the commitment is my starting place.

  2. For instance, since opening the doors on 100 Days of What Works, I've already made 2 changes to the sales page. 1. We needed to add an FAQ about time zone support (can't do it this time) and 2. Added a sample email to help support our value prop.

  3. Hitting "GO" on a new sales campaign is always a bit nerve-wracking. On one hand, you want it all to be perfect. On the other hand, feedback & questions show you what's landing & how things could be improved.

  4. Could 20 minutes change the way you do business? Opened the doors on our first new program in years today! So excited to share the habits that have helped me take a calmer, simpler, more strategic approach to my business.

  5. So good. I literally just wrote a sales email with a similar tact.

Hey women- any time you hesitate on charging more money for your time or demanding a bigger book advance or royalty structure for your podcast or whatever, consider this: fucked over our entire Democracy to juice his book sales. cc

  9. If I wanted to be whisked back to the defining scents of my adolescence, I’d just go to Bath & Body Works. I would definitely not spend $90.

  16. Also, shorter sentences are better every time. No sentence should have more than 2 commas in it. The fewer commas and em dashes, the clearer it'll be when someone is listening!

  17. Podcast scripting: one of the most effective tricks I've learned is to slow WAY down as I let a story or idea unfold. I need 5 or 6 sentences for audio where I might only need 2 or 3 in writing. Repeat details. Give time to let things land.

  18. Make a plan so you can ditch the plan––and avoid that "free fall" feeling that comes from letting a whole lot of randomness dictate your day.

  19. Courage––yes, there are days I don't know what's going to happen when I start. But even if I was completely rested, I STILL can't know what's going to happen. So pushing through the uncertainty and just TRYING has been huge. There hasn't been a single run I've had to adjust.

  20. Patience––The treadmill has not, historically, been my friend. I can run for an hour straight & not get bored outside but inside it's hard to push through for 20 min. The consistency of this challenge has made it much easier to be patient on the tread and enjoy the process.

  21. Consistency––my biggest fear getting started with the streak was injury. Any time I've pushed my mileage or runs per week, I've gotten tendonitis. I've had NONE of that this time! Doing less more consistently has really paid off in terms of my ability to just KEEP GOING.
