I’d probably be fine with a subscription model, if they degraded nicely. Stop paying, app still works but no more upgrades. That seems fair.

Apple changed the software mindset from pay a lot every year, to pay a little once, to never “pay”. I do hope they can move the needle back.

@ow I’m guessing people are less likely to do a subscription than pay once, but both those numbers are tiny anyways.

@amdev no clue how Apple’s works. I think most regular ones things just stop working.

@robs89 developers can make subscription 3/6/12 months long to prevent that. -
