    Not all noise is bad - for instance : It makes our hearing of pure sounds even more precise than a quiet environment.

    Did you know that white noise background can improve auditory perceptual skills? We show that cortical representation of tones adapts during noise by suppressing responses, thereby increasing selectivity. Hence, similar tones become easier to discriminate.
