    After 11 years, the album I made with called “Welcome 2 America” is finally out. Last night when I headed to bed, sudden tears caught me off guard. Part of my musical life has been held in secret for so long and now it’s been birthed into the world.

    After taking our final photos together, I asked her if she was ready to say goodbye & she immediately gave me her paw. The vet was taken aback by the undeniable communication & connection we had. It surely seemed as though she knew this was our last goodbye…in this incarnation.

    These intimate photos are of Cinnamon’s final hour. I expressed my gratitude and gave her a blessing in her bed while covering her in rose petals. She could barely walk, so I wheeled her to her other bed in the yard surrounded by rose petals and I smothered her in kisses.

    I wish Cinnamon left this earthly plane naturally, but the vet said that would lead to an extremely painful death due to the severity of her bone cancer. Yet, choosing the timing of a loved ones last breath is the most heart-wrenching responsibility I’ve found myself with.

    Before saying goodbye to her a few days ago, we went on her final road trip along the coast of California. We saw the redwoods and stopped by Toulouse vineyards. What more could you want on your final days?

    With 13 unforgettable years together, I can easily say that my best friend Cinnamon has been my primary support system and inspiration for the majority of my adult life. Earlier this year, she was diagnosed with bone cancer and the only available treatment was palliative care.

    Her interview on is so good and frustrating at the same time. Just a story on how she stumbled on the bass and 2 years later she was playing playing with Vinne Colaiuta and Wayne Krantz. The Love Remains album is also incredibly good.
