I am coming to you live from a Brandon, Mississippi Waffle House. I, a total loser, came in last place in my fantasy football league. As punishment, I spend 24 hours in a Waffle House. Every waffle I eat shaves an hour off the clock. It’s 4:07 Central.

We mistakenly sent out an empty test email to a portion of our HBO Max mailing list this evening. We apologize for the inconvenience, and as the jokes pile in, yes, it was the intern. No, really. And we’re helping them through it. ❤️

If more icons, more services, and more awesome are wrong, we don’t want to be right. Now you can help us be wrong-er. Or righter. Anyhoo, Font Awesome 6 BETA “Orange Mocha Frappuccino” is finally here! Take a sip and let us know what you think!

To play a bit with Font Awesome 6’s new Thin style of icons and to preserve our own pandemic parental sanity, we cooled-down and made a set of our own coloring sheets. Check it out!

People keep saying "Science shows vaccinated people are safe, so why should mask mandates apply to them?" But it's not a science question, it's a policy question. We don't assign different speed limits to different drivers depending on their skill, because everyone would cheat.

Not to pile on, but holy cow, reading these words... they jump off the screen: "began the meeting by apologizing for announcing the policy changes by a public blog post rather than first telling all employees"

At the core of the Basecamp kerfuffle, it’s a disagreement at work around a tense subject. I’ve seen this play out many times before and after reading all the accounts from all sides it boils down to an executive unwilling to take the L.

It's contingent on leaders to make disagreement safe. But for most of us, disagreement doesn't feel great. So, managers, how do we get better at accepting healthy disagreement? A quick thread of things I have to remind myself:

if you’re a leader, and you aren’t analyzing how you would act, and why, in the situation at basecamp, you’re missing a golden opportunity. Every step offers a gold mine of introspection.

The Republican who is sitting in Stacey Abrams’ chair just signed a despicable voter suppression bill into law to take Georgia back to Jim Crow. The Senate must pass the Act and John Lewis Voting Rights Act immediately – our democracy is at stake tonight.
