Fun weekend of band - this time Show Choir band (one of SIX that Josh plays in at NHS). Such a great program!

This thread is definitely worth a read. While speculative, evidence and insight are in Dan’s court.

If I were a bioinformatics researcher, this is the team with whom I’d like to collaborate. Check it out.

Great article. Understand real risk - not just media buzz.

I am well aware of the risks. But we have to compare to the risks of the world we’re already in. And that world sucks. That’s what this change is about.

Google can and does buy your health data. Startups with lousy cybersecurity, too! Only one who doesn’t have a copy is you.

We clearly need extensions of GINA and other protections. But creating a scattered data space with lots of transaction costs that enables the patient doesn’t seem like increased risk overall. Not as if our data is “private” under existing system that denies us our data.

In this digital age, it feels like a deterrent for this is not regulations, but white hat techies doing testing like this and exposing companies. Market pressure and standards of good practices will be more powerful than regs. Thoughts?

Practice Fusion was a very bad player here. But I think this is less an EHR story, and more one of what and I call , where diagnosis, testing, and decision support are distorted for profit. Perdue/Opiods is one of our examples.

Essential, broad-based support for -based interoperability in healthcare IT. Many leading companies, including , a major EHR vendor as well as and , are proudly opposing healthcare information blocking.

Honored to have met Clayton many times, including through advisory board. Just this week I quoted Clayon on S1 vs S2 innovation at a top 10 pharma meeting: “I have no opinion but the models says...”. I say, RIP and thank you.

Really good stuff from Sage Bionetworks. Even if you don't do direct consent, many key principles and resources to follow if/when you engage patients.
