Exactly, he NEEDS VOTES and he still isn’t budging. If BLM can’t push him with an election on the line you aren’t pushing him anywhere once he doesn’t need your votes anymore.

Vote for him if you want but stop pretending he’s going to turn even slightly progressive once he’s in office

I already voted for him, but I have no illusions about who and what he is. That's exactly why I am seeking alternative leverage. If his "honeymoon" is threatened by unrest, or if economic recovery is threatened by strikes, that might draw him to the table.

Again, it’s a pipe dream, for the reasons I detailed and also because his 45 years of legislative history is public record. I understand you’re looking for any reason to feel good about your vote but I don’t have any to offer.

No, I'm looking for any way to save the nation and the planet from burning. It's a more realistic plan than voting for the green party.

It is. The Green party candidate isn't going to win. Even if they got the majority of votes, they wouldn't win. Both other parties would see to that. The number of people we'd need to persuade otherwise makes it a non-viable prospect. But Biden is just one person. Much easier.

Biden isn’t going to do anything about climate change, his plan is trash, he’s dead-set against M4A during a pandemic, he won’t condemn police violence with millions of people in the streets, and if you think there is some way around all that, you’re lying to yourself

Yeah, well, we are all lying to ourselves, aren't we? If we were truthful, the revolution would already be happening. I'm buying time. If Trump wins, the damage he will do to the climate will make extinction inevitable.

No, I’m very truthful with myself about what is at stake and what is required. A climate plan that isn’t enough is worse than useless because people will think “something is being done” and not worry so much.

And if you think liberals are going to be protesting a Democratic POTUS I’ve got a bridge to sell you

W odpowiedzi do @tadpr0le @RealSteveCox
Do the liberals have children? Grandchildren? Would they like their progeny to survive? I'll buy that bridge, thank you very much. If this doesn't work, neither of us will be around long enough to settle that business.
