Did you guys just hear trump slurr? He literally could not say "United States of America" -- it was all slumped together, I've NEVER seen him this bad....he's not well, mean that

1/2 Trump severely slurred his last few words. Something is wrong. However, that does not signify diagnosis. Could range from a severe issue (neurological) to relatively benign (acute dental problem). Hand gestures did not seem affected. But deserves attention & evaluation.

2/2 it is possibly a very dry mouth from (anticholinergic) meds (which can range from benign to illicit) or even certain foods; could even be TMJ. However, the extreme slurring on only the last few words was beyond what I'd expect from "just" dry mouth/TMJ NEEDS TO BE EVALUATED

Serious question: would TMJ explain his history and habit of severe sniffing? That seems to complicate the diagnosis

Not that I'm aware of, but not my expertise. I'm not sure what's going on with the sniffing, physiological or psychological? I just know that my own mild TMJ & low-dose anti-hypertensives -> days I have mild problems slurring "s" - but not to the extent of Trump's video.

My brother, who is an MD, calls beta blockers "stupid pills" because of some of the side effects. He has to take them. He hates them ( personally.) Aortic stenosis and.... (stable) aneurysm. Found two years ago. Gack!

Is he suggesting Trump is overdosing on them on the reg?

1/2 Just a completely hypothetical (not based on ANY evidence) - if someone (Trump?) is prescribed an "innocuous" anti-hypertensive such as clonidine, even at low dose, and if he is told to increase the dose a bit for anxiety (which would be medically quite safe and appropriate)-

      Replying to @DMRDynamics @tadkins613 and

2/2 that could still lead to dry mouth, transient slurring and/or word finding difficulties (superimposed on whatever else is going on).

Sounds like a good diagnosis. Especially since Trump’s blood pressure is through the roof (not just from mounting scrutiny but also his diet/weight/age)
