I did no formal studying. During college I spent a lot of time managing a Minecraft community on Reddit as an unpaid volunteer. Later I was able to use these skills to get a paid community manager role. My main advice would be: do stuff now, because this proves you can do stuff
Very important: my route is only one route, and I was only able to bum around doing unpaid volunteer work because I lived with my Mum and didn't pay rent or bills. I got my first job through a recommendation from a friend I made through the Reddit volunteering stuff
