And most people in the US would rather have a gun to protect themselves from harm. If that security guard in Florida had a gun a lot less people would have died. I agree more background checks should be done though. A blanket ban over the US will probably not happen, anytime soon
more guns just escalates the situation. you don't need guns to defend yourself if there are less guns in circulation. I never lobbied for a blanket ban, just explaining what the UK did and how it reduced mass shootings to only 1 in 21 years :)

Criminals will find a way to get guns either way. If the security guard and Florida had a gun, dozens could have been saved.

If the shooter didn't have a gun, dozens could have been saved. Given security guards guns doesn't stop shootings happening in the first place. In the UK, the number of guns criminals access is much much lower, so saying "they still get guns" is not logical
