Question: does the UK have laws requiring youtubers or streamers to disclose when they’ve been compensated for producing content like the US does? (We don’t pay for people to make Minecraft content; I’m just wondering.)
This is not totally true. Whilst the ASA has traditionally had control over enforcing consumer protection laws, the CMA is increasingly active in enforcing disclosure on paid sponsorships, which are not ads (see next tweet)

Ad = brand asks influencer to share something + has control over what it is (eg brand makes vid) sponsorship = brand works with influencer to create content based on / including the brand CMA regulates sponsorship under consumer rights law. The ASA regulates ads under CAP codes
