In the instruction booklet for one of the card games we played on Christmas Day, it had "[en dash]" printed in letters – instead of an actual en dash – and I'm still thinking about it

No, relatively modern game show card game. Just a printing error that wasn't caught during editing / proofing

ahh okie i see :D my friend has a board game (forgot what's it called) and it was a kickstarter campaign. Let's just say that the instruction manual was quite interesting in terms of understandability xD
