GTA V seems to be the game that folk buy with a PS4/XB1. Is that because the game is so good, or the generation has been disappointing?

when PS4/XBO GTA came out I wrote a blog about how I thought they should have split MP off as a f2p offering.

Yeah, I can see that. I guess it is unusual for any game to be that 'essential first purchase' when getting a console (outside of Nintendo). Reminds of The Matrix and DVD players

That's interesting yeah. I think for a lot of younger players Minecraft is that game on their devices. New laptop or PC, first personal computer = buy minecraft account. Same on tablets
