The decision to change from character count to the unknowing orb is ridiculous. Yet another example of Twitter UI/UX teams choosing aesthetics over practicality

Ah, it shows at 20 left. That's better than nothing. Would have preferred a lot more though - shorter messages will always be easier to consume

Agreed. Would’ve liked something closer to 175-200 as far as the increase goes. 280 seems a bit overboard and unecessary for a platform that’s always been based on portraying thoughts in a concise manner.

140 was arbitrary based on SMS limits so I don't mind the increase necessarily. Just a bit of a weird thing to focus on + the rollout has been handled poorly. 200 sounds good
