I'm glad to see so much talk recently about how game makers should not murder themselves/ relationships/ finances to ship a game.

Of course what that means practically is that devs take longer to make games that are sometimes shorter and sometimes charge more for them.

And it also means they need more money to make the game to begin with. Also need to live somewhere where the safety net can help.

The market isn't going to do any of this, and some very vocal consumers and a decent chunk of press will complain about some of it.

what do you think about the rise of mid-level publishers who support creators with finances + resources in exchange for return on investment
