There are good and bad things about the system: Bad: you don't get reimbursed for defending yourself Good: Poorer people can sue when right
In systems where the loser pays fees for winner, people with more to lose are much less likely to sue - which means ppl get away with stuff

In the UK, I would think very carefully before suing someone even if they were definitely in the wrong. Because I could lose everything

It’s just that *getting* sued seems like a guaranteed lottery of losing money, which really sucks when it’s false.
