we always tried to take new devs to events with us, and after 1 show there was always an "oooh I get it now" moment

at event: work a full live day ~7am to maybe 10pm if you're lucky, though there's still comms to go out for night activities

but yeah, always got a lot of "you're going to Germany, lucky" as if I was going to see more than my hotel and convention center
